🎙️ Ain’t Too Proud: This hit Broadway musical that follows the life and times of the Temptations is coming to the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium from Sept. 19-24.

🍴 Terroir Symposium: Three food-fuelled days of transformative discussions, workshops, and relationship building, the Terroir Symposium will take place at SAIT and Jack Singer Concert Hall from Sept 30-Oct 2.

🎹 The Doobie Brothers: The classic rock band has extended its 50th Anniversary Tour and will be making a stop at Scotiabank Saddledome on Oct 25.

🍗 Dinner at Harry’s House: Calling all Harry Styles enthusiasts! Enjoy a Harry Styles-themed brunch or dinner for two days only on Nov 18 and 19.

🍔 Brick Burger: Combining the world of LEGO and gourmet burgers, this innovative restaurant is coming to Calgary for two days! Visit the pop-up restaurant on Bowness Road NW, on Dec 9 and 10.

Happening this week and weekend

Sept 15 until Sept 30 | Various times | Beddington Theatre Arts Centre

Based on the novel by Stephen King, this revamped version of the 1988 musical of the same name follows Carrie, a young woman who discovers she has telekinetic powers. [$27-$30]

Sept 15 until Oct 1 | Various venues

This annual event combines charity and community with pizza crusts in mind. Check out the city’s participating restaurants that are competing to be named Calgary’s best pizza, all for a good cause.

Sept 18-23 | Various times | Comedy Cave

Bo Johnson is a comedian from Seattle who can be found headlining clubs, breweries, and bars across North America. His standup was featured on season two of Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City on Comedy Central. [$15]

LobbyFest | Wednesday to Friday

This urban futures festival transforms Calgary’s downtown tower lobbies into pop-up future lawns, conversation salons, and community spaces.

Dara O’Briain | Thursday | 7-10pm

Comedian Dara O’Briain will hit the stage at MacEwan Hall at University of Calgary as part of his tour called, So…Where Were We? [$52.50]

Ballet Hispànico in Doña Perón | Thursday to Saturday

Alberta Ballet is welcoming this New York-based guest company in a complex and moving portrait of Eva Person, Argentina’s most controversial First Lady. Showtimes vary and performances will take place at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. [$69+]

Beakerhead | Thursday to Sunday  

This mashup of science, engineering, and art will transform the city into a playground of interactive experiences, awe-inspiring installations, and mind-bending performances. [Free]

Chris D’Elia | Friday | 7-10pm

Comedian and podcast host Chris D’Elia will be at MacEwan Hall at University of Calgary as part of his Don’t Push Me Tour! [$43+]

Carnivàle | Friday | 7-11pm  

Head to Heritage Park Historical Village for street performances by Le Cirque de la Nuit, fortune tellers, games, and more. [$99.95]

Irish Mythen | Friday | 7:30pm

The Ireland-born, PEI-based performer will put on a concert at Southwood United Church. [$30]

This hybrid festival of international screen dance works will be presented virtually and in-person at Globe Cinema. [$30+]

30 Years of Helping Wildlife | Saturday | 10am-2pm

The Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation is hosting this event to celebrate its milestone with a silent auction at cSPACE Marda Loop. [Free]

Freshly Pressed: Steamroller 2023 | Saturday | 11am-4pm 

Alberta Printmakers is hosting a celebration with a hands-on fabric writing activity, a window gallery, and an outdoor steamroller printing demonstration at Rick Rack Textiles. [Free]

Community Festival | Saturday | 12-3pm  

Join the Alberta Park and Radisson Heights communities for an afternoon of food, music, games, art, family activities, a market, and more at Grace Baptist Church. [Free]

La Serenissima | Saturday | 5-8pm

An evening honouring Harry Kiyooka and highlighting some never-before-seen works from his Venetian series. The evening of art will take place at Kiyooka The Arts Centre. [$109.83]

This album release show by the Hutchinson Andrew Trio will feature guest musicians PJ Perry, Al Moorhead, and Mallory Chipman at Studio Bell. [$19.95+]

Orange Shirt Beaded Pin Workshop | Sunday | 10am-5pm  

Join Métis artisan Janis Laboucane to learn the basics in beading and create your own Orange Shirt Breaded Pin in this workshop at Fort Calgary. All materials are supplied. [$100]

Explore a collection of handmade creations crafted by Indigenous artists and makers from Treaty 7 and beyond at The Brownstone on Sept 18 and 19. [$6.66+]

Hosted by the talented Ben Dyck, enjoy tasteful comedy and beer at Revival Brewcade every Tuesday evening.

Fort Calgary Stories | Wednesday to Sunday | 1pm

Join Fort Calgary for a one-hour outdoor walking tour that explores Fort Calgary’s 40 beautiful parklands and teaches you about the layered stories rooted in the site. The tour takes place at 1pm every Wednesday to Sunday.

Mid-Autumn Festival | Until Sept 24 | 10am

In honour of Alberta Culture Day the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre is hosting a multicultural fall festival with the theme of a major Chinese holiday, the Mid-Autumn Festival. [Free]

DIY Terrarium Workshop | Until Sept 30

Join the Plant Shop team for a DIY terrarium-making workshop where they walk you through the process step-by-step. Join them on Aug 31 or one of the other dates. [$60]

Join the Boo Crew at Calaway Park this fall and take a stroll through Hallotown as well as enjoy some special edition adventures! [$34+]
