🤼 WWE Monday Night Raw: WWE Monday Night RAW returns to Calgary for the first time in 11 years next week in this globally televised live event featuring “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Sami Zayn, The Judgment Day, Becky Lynch, Drew McIntyre, Calgary’s own Natalya and more. Sept 9 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

🎭️ Our Fathers, Sons, Lovers and Little Brothers: Dora Award-winning playwright and actor, Makambe K. Simamba, returns to Calgary to kick off Handsome Alice's season in this protest for all Black life beyond headlines and hashtags, a prayer for all families left behind, and a promise to the community that all Black lives matter. Sept 13-28 at Big Secret Theatre in Arts Commons.

🛻 Calgary: Monster Jam: Bringing together world-class athletes and commanding 12,000-pound trucks in a spectacular showcase of speed, skill and gravity-defying stunts, this event will delight motorsports enthusiasts. Sept 14-15 at GMC Stadium.

🏃 44th annual Terry Fox Run: Canadians from more than 600 communities across the country are anticipated to run, walk or bike in the annual Terry Fox Run including right here in Calgary. Sept 15 at Fort Calgary at 10am.

On our radar

🎭️ Come From Away: This popular Broadway Across Canada show about the true story of the small town that welcomed the world is making its much-anticipated return to Calgary. Sept 17-22 at the Jubilee.

🧪 Beakerhead at Spark: This year, this popular art and science installation event is offering attendees the option of enjoying a daytime experience suited for families or exploring the event after dark with two premium night events. Sept 20-24 at The Telus Science Centre.

Friday | Jack Singer Concert Hall | 8pm

Stand Up for Vets features five world class comedian performances by Nigel Lawrence, Paul Myrehaug, Erica Sigurdson, Steve Patterson, and Sophie Buddle. This night of laughter is in support of Canadian Veterans.

Saturday | Parkdale Community Association | 10am-4pm

This annual event just keeps getting bigger and better since its launch in 2017 by a group of pet enthusiasts living in the community. Bring your dogs for a day of family fun!

🐻‍❄️ Polar Bear Breakfast 

Sunday | The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo | 8-11am

It’s your last chance to catch this family-friendly breakfast buffet at the Calgary Zoo which includes exclusive access to the polar bears where attendees will get to learn more about polar bear conservation along with access to the rest of the zoo after the tour concludes.

The Play That Goes Wrong | Tuesday | 7:30pm

Playing live at The Max Bell Theatre until September 29, this production is full of comedic hilarity and based on the common experience that when things don’t go according to plan, the show must still go on. [Starting at $44]

Static: A Party Girl's Memoirs | Wednesday | Various times

Inside Out Theatre and Chromatic Theatre are proud to present the world premiere of a play that’s based on the true story of a young woman who unexpectedly loses her sight and finds joy in unexpected places. Catch this live performance until Saturday, September 14. [$12-$21]

Skull & Lotus $100 Tattoo Day | Wednesday | 10:30am

Pop over to Skull & Lotus Tattoo where they are hosting their last $100 tattoo day of the summer featuring 10+ experienced artists who are ready and excited to bring dreams to a reality. [Starting at $130]

Coming to the Jack Singer Concert Hall for one night only, this musical concert features hits from some of the greats like Johnny Cash, Chubby Checker, Patsy Cline, and many more in a show filled with trivia, costume changes, and nostalgia. [Starting at $49]

Performing at the Grey Eagle Event Centre, the UK sensation Frank Turner hits the stage with his band The Sleeping Souls joined by Bedouin Soundclash and Bridge City Sinners as the opening acts for this spectacular live show. [Starting at $40]

Blue Jay Sessions: 5th Anniversary Spectacular | Thursday - Friday | 6-10:30pm

Enjoy an evening of unique live performances at the Mamdani Opera Centre where 12+ local artists hit the stage each night to perform original songs and classic covers accompanied by the sounds of a string band where attendees can sip on craft beer and indulge on charcuterie. [$49]

Honens Festival: Open Air Calgary | Thursday-Sunday | Various times

With the piano at the centre of this festival, there are a variety of opportunities to see talented pianists demonstrate their skills throughout the city with a special event happening Saturday at 2:30pm in Central Memorial Park aimed to celebrate togetherness and soak up the last of the summer sun. Neurographic Art Workshop | Friday | 6-8:30pm

Paint Ur Art Out is hosting a neurographic art workshop where attendees will learn and practice meditative art practices that use calming techniques to create a unique personalized piece that promotes mindfulness and positivity. [$74]

Experience an up close and more personal performance by local sensation Amy Bishop at this concert taking place at the Calgary Centre for Spiritual Living where guests can expect to laugh, cry, and have a good time. [$33]

Art From The Heart | Saturday | 11am-4pm

Support local painter Lynn Hawthorne at this art show where she highlights her love for mountain scenes and the diversity of the prairie landscape using mainly acrylic paint. [Free to attend]

Ceramic Pot Painting Workshop | Saturday | 12-2pm

This hands-on workshop designed for ages 10+ is an opportunity to relax while learning artistic skills and painting ceramic pots and in the beautiful natural environment of Confluence Historic Site and Parkland. [$50]

Taking place at Vine Arts this wine tasting is led by comedian sommelier, Mollie Rosa who will entertain and educate guests as they snack on charcuterie and sip on a curated selection of wines with the goal of finding a new favourite. [$45]

Taste of Italy Festival | Sunday | 11am-7pm

The Bridgeland Riverside Community Association is proud to host the third annual Taste of Italy Festival where attendees can celebrate Italian culture and enjoy an authentic experience with live entertainment, activities and contests. [Free admission]

Mountain Speaker Series | Sunday | 7:30-10pm

The Alpine Club of Canada invites everyone to participate in an evening of sharing stories, tips, tricks, and industry secrets about all things climbing and outdoors where attendees have an opportunity to win raffle prizes, bid in a silent auction, and connect with guest speaker Zac Colbran. [$23]

There’s a summer long party at Deerfoot City and there’s still plenty of fun to be had! Dust off your roller skates and let the good times roll at the fourth annual #YYCBlockParty, featuring a 100-foot outdoor roller rink amongst a giant street mural—and so much more.

Fly through a technicolour nebula, kick up dust on the moon, and witness Saturn’s rings up close in this out-of-this-world immersive experience. Explore the galaxy through the James Webb telescope with this unique space exploration encounter.

A nostalgic tribute to the band's transformative years upon arriving in Canada for the first time, this display captures the cultural landscape of Canada in the 1960s, and the frenzied excitement of Beatlemania that swept across the country.
