🚀 Oppenheimer Space Night 2023: The recent movie Oppenheimer explores the internal struggles of one of the most influential physicists in history. Jason Donev will discuss the movie, and the making of the atomic bomb, and there will be access to an array of telescopes on Nov 18.

🎭 Hadestown: This Broadway Across Canada winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards is coming to the city Nov 21-26. Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.

🐈 Fill-the-Van at MEOW Thrift: The MEOW Foundation van will be parked outside of MEOW Charity Thrift Shop on Nov 25 for a Fill-the-Van donation drive seeking cat care items (canned & dry food, litter) and cleaning supplies (bleach, paper towel, etc.).

🐕  AARCS Holiday Market: Join AARCS for a two-day holiday market on Dec 1 and 2 where you can start shopping early while supporting local businesses all for a good cause!

🎄 Glow Calgary: From Dec 7 to 31 at the Nutrien Western Event Centre, enjoy festive attractions and an indoor light garden illuminated by millions of twinkling bulbs.

The Calgary European Film Festival invites movie lovers to the best of European cinema for the 12th anniversary of the event. Some films can also be streamed online.

Mayor Jyoti Gondek will be reading to kids at the Central Library and have a Halloween-themed event featuring stories, songs, and rhymes. [Free]

Halloween Hike Night | Tuesday | 8-10:30pm

Learn about and seek out nocturnal creatures on this 4-5km hike around the Weaselhead area. [$12 for adults]

Halloween Thriller Party | Tuesday | 10pm-3am

The Back Alley is hosting a Halloween Thriller Party with prizes for the best male and female costumes. [$10]

LEGO Bricks and Foundations | Wednesday | 5-7pm

Kids aged 5+ can make and take home one of seven fun buildable toys with gear-driven functions in this free event hosted by University District Staples. [Free but registration required, as there are limited spots.]

Jack Singer Concert Hall is presenting a screening of this classic film on the big screen featuring a live eight-piece orchestra performance of the original score. [$46+]

Comedian Kevin Stobo | Friday-Sunday | Various times

Kevin started his comedy career right out of high school in Banff, Alberta as he went on to win Edmonton’s Funniest New Comic weeks after graduation. Since then, this Alberta-favourite has become a crowd-pleasing force to be reckoned with across the country with his friendly, relatable style of comedy.
