📚️ Wordfest Presents Imaginarium: Savour your favourite returning authors and sample breakout stars at this event celebrating books and words. Enjoy talk shows, storytelling and poetry events, and the return of Literary Death Match. Oct 16-21 at various locations.

🩰 Alberta Ballet’s Grimm: This spine-chilling ballet intricately weaves seven iconic tales from The Brothers Grimm into a night of eerie enchantment: The Sleeping Beauty, Minstrels of Bremen, Snow White, Seven Ravens, Frog Prince, Rapunzel, and The Three Spinners into an all-new chilling storyline. Oct 17-19 at the Jubilee.

🍂 42nd Annual Fall Harvest Market: Kick off the holiday season with the 42nd annual Fall Harvest Market featuring unique vendor items that make perfect Christmas gifts and get a head start on your holiday shopping. Oct 18-20 at the Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre.

👰 Bridal Expo: The Bridal Expo is Alberta's largest of its kind, featuring more than 100 interactive exhibits, a gigantic gown sale, glamorous fashion shows, a champagne lounge, and Calgary's finest wedding vendors. Oct. 27 at the Telus Convention Centre. 

🎨 Festival of Crafts: Calgary’s premier holiday handmade market founded in 1986 celebrates the rich tradition of Canadian craftsmanship by bringing together over 130 talented artisans from across the country. Oct 31-Nov 3 at the BMO Centre.

It’s the last home game of the season for the Stampeders as they unfortunately didn’t make the playoffs so cheer them on in person for one last time in 2024 as they host their northern rivals (who thankfully also missed the playoffs this year). Not so fun fact: It’s the first time since both teams joined the league that neither will play in the post season. Go Stamps Go!

CPRS Calgary and Dr. Dawn Johnston will be exploring the intersections of pop culture, public relations, and media using global icon Taylor Swift as an example while dining on delicious oysters at Rodney's Oyster House and they invite curious minds to join. [$12-$34]

The Haysboro Community Association is proud to host the Bharatiya Bengali Cultural Club of Calgary (BBC3) as they celebrate their first Durga Puja known as the biggest Bengali festival while sharing information about their newly purchased Idols from Kolkata, India. [Free to attend]

This free online offering is a part of the National Depression Screening Day collection and provides caregivers with information on how to recognize signs of depression in kids and tips for supporting the varying needs of a young child’s mental health. [Free]

Gluten Free Fall Market | Saturday | 10am-3pm

The 5th Edition of Lokal’s Gluten Free Market is back at the Marda Loop Community Hall where celiac and non-celiac individuals can shop easily with clear labelling and explore a variety of curated products baked with love, care, and quality ingredients. [Free]

Blue Grass Pumpkin Fest | Saturday | 11am-3pm

Enjoy a day of autumn magic at the 21st Annual Blue Grass Nursery Pumpkin Fest in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital where attendees can experience a petting zoo, play games, enjoy hay rides, and watch a giant pumpkin get smashed by a vehicle. [$10]

Thanksgiving Gratitude Walk | Monday | 8am-12pm

This community-driven charity walk is in honour of the amazing work and community support that the Calgary Food Bank extends to Calgarians. It begins at Peace Park where all participants across all fitness levels are welcome to join a 7km walking loop and asked to contribute a non-perishable food item or financial donation. The Okotoks Art Council invites acoustic artists of all levels to participate in an open jam play session at the Old Church Theatre where admission is free and spectators are welcome to join in on the fun. [Free]

Death Trap | Until Nov 10 | Stage West dinner theatre

Sidney Bruhl is a successful writer of Broadway mystery plays but is struggling to live up to his own reputation. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student and he hatches a sinister plan. What Sidney doesn’t know, is his student has some surprise plot points of his own up his sleeve.
