🎅 The Andy Kim Christmas: The legendary Andy Kim leads a star-studded lineup of Canadian musicians in support of NMC's charitable initiatives, with all proceeds benefiting music and education programs. Dec 13 at the National Music Centre.

🍋 Lemon Light Up fundraiser: The Westley Hotel and the Love for Lewiston Foundation is hosting the third annual Lemon Light Up event to raise money to purchase equipment for a child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Nov 14 at the Westley Hotel.

🎸 Girls Just Wanna Have Fun: The girls are all here; the Andrews Sisters in the ’40s, the Spice Girls, The Supremes, The Pointer Sisters and more, Stage West’s latest puts the spotlight on the women who changed music. Nov 15 to Feb 2 at Stage West.

💡 Zoolights: Yes, believe it or not this beloved Christmas holiday tradition at the zoo is just around the corner. Bigger, brighter, and bolder with over one million lights and close to 250 light figures. Nov 15 to Jan 5 at the Calgary Zoo/Wilder Institute.

🎥 CUFF.Docs Documentary Film Festival: This year’s edition of the festival boasts 16 features and nine shorts over five days. The lineup has just been unveiled so check out the list here and our picks. Nov 20-24 at the Globe.

Happening this week and weekend

Thursday-Sunday | Millarville | Various times

YYC Canadian Jazz Festival  | Now until Sunday | 5:30-9:30pm

The European Film Festival | Now until Sunday | Various times

The 13th edition brings you films to various locations and there’s even a dance competition.

Visit the memorial and participate in daily sunrise and sunset ceremonies and a special Night of Lights tribute ceremony on the evening of Nov 10 and a Remembrance Day service on Nov 11. The Field of Crosses is open to the public 24/7 during that time.

Dumpling Festival | Wednesday | 5:30-9:30pm

Experience different restaurants and tastes that may include Italian gnocchi, Japanese gyoza, Mexican empanadas, Nepalese momos to Ukrainian dumplings, and more.

Noodle Festival | Thursday-Nov 17

Every noodle counts at this unique celebration of noodles, culture, and community. Not just another restaurant festival, it’s all about showcasing the best of Asian cuisine.

Calgary’s Largest Garage Sale | Saturday | 10am-4pm

Just as the description says, there is no shortage of treasure and troves at this massive garage sale so check out the hidden gems at Thorncliffe Greenview Community Centre.

Cavalry soccer playoff game | Saturday | 1pm

Calgary’s professional soccer team is in the playoff final so you better head to Spruce Meadows to cheer them on in their most important game of the season.

Mode Made | Saturday | 7pm

This all-ages event features more than 15 international modelling agents flying in from Milan, Paris, New York, Madrid and London to see Mode's next generation of talent for the first time in our city.

Cool Choir performance | Saturday | 8:15pm

Head to the Bethany Chapel of Calgary where Cool Choir is going to premiere its original song honouring the Royal Canadian Air Force Centenary.
