Happy Tuesday, friends. You may have heard about this thing called the Stampede taking over the city but that’s not all that is happening this week in Calgary. 🧘 Rise: Run, Yoga, Meditate: Rise Run/Walk, Yoga, Meditate is a day bringing people together outside in nature for a run (or walk), an outdoor yoga experience, and a guided meditation with DJs on the main stage. July 13 at Carburn Park.

🎸 Calgary Folk Music Festival: The Calgary Folk Music 45th anniversary kicks off, featuring headlining performances by The Roots, KT Tunstall, Cowboy Junkies, Ben Howland, and many more. July 25–28 on Prince's Island Park.
🍽️ Taste of Calgary: One of our favourite events is back again to give Calgarians a chance to sample different food and drinks with sample tickets while also listening to live music and perusing market vendors. Aug 1 to 5 at LOT 6 - 311 8 Street SW.
🎆 GlobalFest Fireworks and Culture Festival: It’s never too early to mark it on your calendars and plan ahead for this popular annual fireworks festival. Aug 15-24 at Elliston Park.

🎸 Jimmy Rankin: Award-winning East Coast singer-songwriter Jimmy Rankin will perform live with his beloved Martin D-35 acoustic guitar that’s currently on loan. Sept 6 at Studio Bell’s National Music Centre.

Wednesday to Friday | 11am-2pm | The Core shopping centre
The Core Shopping Mall is excited to host a free pop-up market featuring western vintage finds at a great price with live music to get in the Stampede spirit.
Saturday | 3-9pm | Heritage Park
Shop local vendors in the Plaza, grab a bite to eat and be entertained at Heritage Park’s market nights, which are a pet-friendly event, so make sure you bring your fur baby along, too.
Sunday | 10am-3pm | River Walk Plaza East Village
The Mom Market strives to support small businesses of all kinds so peruse the local vendors while enjoying a walk by the river.
2024 YONEX Canada Open | Tuesday-Sunday | Various times
Support some of the greatest athletes in badminton at the 2024 YONEX Canada Open competition taking place at the WinSport Event Centre where fans can experience the vibrant energy, camaraderie, and friendly competition of this sport firsthand. HMCS Calgary Barn Burner | Wednesday | 5:30-8:30pm
This family friendly Stampede event is raising funds for the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society and the Veterans Association Food Bank by providing live performances, loads of entertainment and dinner made by the Blue Flame Kitchen Cafe. [$58]
Family Night Out: Kids Who Explore X Patagonia Calgary | Thursday | 5-7pm
Patagonia Calgary is excited to present their second pop-up shop event where families have an opportunity to explore Patagonia Kids gear at an exclusive discount while entering giveaways and learning about hiking in a live Q+A [Free RSVP]
Mexifest | Thursday-Sunday | Various times

Tipi Pole Harvest & Processing Workshop | Saturday-Sunday | Various times
Participate in this two-day community event at the Confluence Historic Site & Parkland where attendees will learn about the thoughtful process of preparing tipi poles, assist with raising the tipi poles, and share stories beside a fire. [Free with registration]
City Cleanup with Zeno | Saturday | 9:30am-Noon
Zeno Calgary invites Calgarians to participate in a community clean up of the East Village and Crossroads areas where attendees can support the city’s sustainability goals and enjoy complimentary ice cream and snacks. [Free]
Indigenous Elegance Arts Market & Fashion Show | Saturday | 12-9pm
This fashion show and arts market taking place at the Confluence Historic Site features 25 artists, 18 designers and two runways to celebrate haute couture from emerging Indigenous designers with a focus on fusing both traditional and contemporary artistry. [$28]
Bastid's BBQ Tour Party | Saturday | 4pm-Midnight
