Happy Tuesday, friends. We are going to switch up the way we present future events next week while we tweak a couple more things but stay tuned for those little changes that will make it just a little easier to plan ahead. Thank you for the support and we hope you enjoy these mid-April events!

On our radar

🍴 Feast on Fourth: This is a feast that won't bust your wallet, with eats like the juiciest Nashville Chicken Sandwich you'll find west of the Mississippi, luxurious lobster nachos and a monstrous 4-scoop ice cream flight that comes loaded with sprinkles and waffle chips from Apr. 24-28.

💥 Calgary Expo: Comics & Entertainment: Whether getting a single day pass or a four-day pass, make sure to visit this iconic event where fans can gather to enjoy the artistry and creativity of comics and other forms of media from Apr. 25-28.

🎷 Jazz YYC International Jazz Days: From April 25 to May 1, enjoy out-of-this-world jazz performances during this popular local festival serenading audiences later this month at various locations.

🍺 Calgary International Beerfest: Celebrated annually, this event ranks as one of Canada's largest beer festivals, offering attendees an opportunity to sample hundreds of domestic and international beers. May 3/4.

🍹 YYCaesarfest: The home of the caesar drink presents the most Canadian long weekend plan ever for a weekend of caesars, craft beer, cider, spirits, food, and a ton of fun. At the Big Four building on May 18.

Thursday-April 28 | Various times | The Globe Theatre

One of our favourite film festivals of the year is finally here and we couldn’t be more excited with 11 days of edgy and thought-provoking film on the docket. Not only that, but there is a whole smorgasbord of fun to be had with their special events.

Friday-Sunday | Various times | Spruce Meadows

Unleash the excitement at this one-of-a-kind inaugural pet extravaganza featuring fun-loving pooches, agile performers, energetic herders, and irresistibly fuzzy companions. Fun for animal lovers, friends, family, and more!

Friday-Sunday | Various times| Stampede Park BMO Centre

This world-famous tour filled with life-size dinosaurs will be in Calgary April this weekend. Meticulously painted and animated to be realer-than-real, you’ll enjoy these prehistoric dinos whether you’re 3 or 103.

Felted Gnomes Craft Night | Tuesday | 7-9pm

The Sparrow Artspace invites all experience levels to this workshop where attendees have an opportunity to work on their own piece or experience felting a gnome to take home with guidance from Jamie. [By Donation]

A Gathering to Support One Another | Wednesday | 11:30am-3pm

The G4 SNTTC invites all Calgarians to Olympic Plaza for a day of gathering in the spirit of community where attendees can enjoy a complimentary lunch, access to Indigenous cultural services and receive a backpack filled with essentials to lift each other up. [Free]

Congress After Dark: Rope Night | Wednesday | 7- 9pm

Congress Coffee Co. is hosting an adults only evening of creativity in support of Skipping Stone, where guests are welcome to enjoy live models doing rope art and suspension while figure drawing and sketching takes place. [$12]

Hosted by Rick’s Auction Galleries, this onsite locker auction is taking place at the Maple Leaf Storage facility in Sunridge and is a great opportunity to experience the thrill of a live auction. [Free to attend]

With 13 performances happening before the awaited release of Taylor Swift’s new album at 10pm, join the Bank & Baron Pub for a night of live performances, dancing and so much more. [Starting at $24]

Purple Day By Night  | Friday | 5:30pm

In support of the Epilepsy Association of Calgary, the Brownstone YYC is hosting Purple Day By Night for an evening of live painting sessions, musical performances, and an immersive experience where the power of creativity becomes a catalyst for change. [Starting at $150]

Open Skate Drop-in with The Roller Jungle Friday | 3pm | Contemporary Calgary

Let your inner wild child out and roll with The Roller Jungle as you work on your skills, get to know other skaters, and have fun! All ages and all levels of experience are welcome to drop in. [$10 with skate rental]

Blue Jay Sessions: Spring Edition | Friday-Sunday | Various Times

The Prairie Emporium is excited to host the Blue Jay Sessions weekend event featuring an array of independent Canadian artists and hosted by Megan Dawson, Devin Cooper and Valerie Hunt. [Starting at $13]

Mid Century Show and Sale | Saturday | 10am-4pm 

Taking place at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association, the VintageChicDream’s sale features 40 booths offering art, furniture, and more from the 60’s - 80’s and is a great opportunity to find something special. [$3 Admission]

Join neuroscientist and holistic nutritionist, Orsha Magyar, at the Community Natural Foods on 10 Ave for a discussion to learn about the vagus nerve and all its capabilities. [Free Registration]

Ring Making Party | Saturday | 12-2pm

Join the MEIRAKO x Banded Peak Brewing Workshop where attendees 18+ can sip on Banded Peak beer and make friendship rings out of quality metals. [$80]

Lube Lucha 19  | Saturday | 5-8pm 

This ultimate Lube Lucha Smokesdown Show is all about slippery hilarity and good vibes as 12 wrestlers step into the ring to battle it out for the Lube Lucha Belt at the Back Alley. [$22]

Spring Thaw Car Show | Sunday | 10am-3pm

Explore over 400 dazzling vehicles, from hot rods to classics and then experience Gasoline Alley Museum like never before as almost all the cars in the museum have their hoods up. Live music, retail deals, and delicious dining options at The Selkirk restaurant. [Free]

Time To Grow Workshop | Until April 22 | 1-3pm
